Die Pianistin Angela Schmidt ist eine Musikerin mit tiefem Gestaltungswillen, klanglicher Feinheit und einem ausgeprägten Gespür für Form, Raum und Zeit. Ihre Interpretationen zeichnen sich durch strukturelle Klarheit und emotionale Dichte aus, eine seltene Verbindung von Intellekt und Intuition, die ihr Spiel unmittelbar berührend und gleichzeitig gedanklich durchdrungen macht. Das Wirken der Pianistin Angela Schmidt ist aus einer Kombination von Musikalität, tiefgehender Interpretation und technischer Präzision geprägt. Besonders ihre Interpretation der Sonate Op. 28 („Pastorale“) hinterließ bei ihm einen bleibenden Eindruck: „Sie findet dennatürlichen Fluss der Musik, ohne je in Äußerlichkeiten zu verfallen.“Angela Schmidt wurde für ihre pianistischen Leistungen international ausgezeichnet. Sie ist Preisträgerin des Internationalen Musikwettbewerbs ´´Music & Earth´´ in Sofia, Bulgarien (2012), wo sie in der Kategorie Piano Solo den Spezialpreis Klassik für die Interpretation einer Sonate von L. v. Beethoven erhielt. Sie konzertierte im Nationalen Museum Sofia und Radio Sofia, verbunden mit einer Präsentation imbulgarischen Nationalfernsehen.Ihr künstlerischer Weg wurde durch ein intensives Studium an international renommierten Institutionen geprägt: Nach dem Diplomabschluss an der Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt/Main setzte sie ihre Ausbildung an der Staatlichen Musikakademie „P. Vladigerov“ Sofia in der Klasse von Jenny Zaharieva fort. Anschließend bestand sie die Aufnahmeprüfung am Moskauer Tschaikowsky-Konservatorium, wo sie bei Alexander Fomenko und Vladimir Tropp ein künstlerisches Aufbaustudium absolvierte. Sie wurde dabei durch ein Stipendium des russischen Kulturministeriums gefördert, das ihr über das Russische Haus der Wissenschaft und Kultur in Berlin vermittelt wurde, als erste deutsche Pianistin, die auf diese Weise für das Tschaikowsky-Konservatorium ausgezeichnet wurde. Angela Schmidt war Stipendiatin der Anna Ruths-Stiftung Frankfurt/Main. Zu ihren Lehrern und Förderern zählen namhafte Pianisten und Klavierprofessoren wie Paul Badura-Skoda, Stanislav Pochekin und Vladimir Krainev. Ergänzt wurde ihre Ausbildung durch internationale Meisterkurse unter anderem bei Dmitri Alexeev, Andrzej Jasinski, Natalia Trull, Marie-Josèphe Jude, Chantal Stigliani und Naum Grubert. Im April 2013 gehörte sie zu den sechs ausgewählten Teilnehmern der Meisterklasse mit Paul Badura-Skoda, die im Rahmen des International Piano Forums in Frankfurt/Main stattfand. Sie war Teilnehmerin beim 7. Internationalen Piano Meeting San Daniele, Cours public La Schola Cantorum Paris, Piano Festival Saint-Savin sowie Meisterkurse am Mozarteum Salzburg und am Moskauer Tchaikovsky Konservatorium. Eine Reihe thematischer Konzerte ist in Vorbereitung. Darüber hinaus entsteht derzeit ihre erste Solo-CD, deren Veröffentlichung für das kommende Jahr geplant ist. Heute widmet sich Angela Schmidt mit großer Leidenschaft der Kammermusik und entwickelt gemeinsam mit international tätigen Partner:innen innovative Programme, die klassische Meisterwerke in unerwartete Kontexte setzen und mit zeitgenössischer Ästhetik verweben. In diesen Konzertformaten begegnen sich etwa Elgar und Arvo Pärt, Debussy und Max Richter, nicht als Kontraste, sondern als verwandte Stimmen verschiedener Zeiten.

The German pianist Angela Schmidt is an artist of profound interpretative depth, tonal refinement, and a finely tuned sense for form, space, and time. Her interpretations are marked by structural clarity and emotional richness, a rare fusion of intellect and intuition that makes her playing both immediately touching and intellectually compelling. The great Pianist Paul Badura-Skoda, with whom she worked over several years, once praised her as “an artist who not only speaks Beethoven’s language, but breathes it.” Her interpretation of the Sonata Op. 28 (“Pastorale”) left a lasting impression: “She finds the natural flow of the music without ever resorting to superficiality.” Angela Schmidt has been honoured internationally for her pianistic achievments. She is a prizewinner of the International Music Competition ´´Music & Earth´´ Sofia, Bulgaria (2012), where she received the special prize in the piano solo category for her interpretation of a Sonata by L. v. Beethoven. She performed in Crystal Hall National Museum Sofia and in Radio Sofia, combined with a presentation on Bulgarian National Television. Her artistic path has been shaped by intensive studies at international renowned institutions. After receiving her diploma from the University of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt/Main, she continued her training at the State Music Academy “P. Vladigerov” Sofia with Jenny Zaharieva. She was subsequently admitted to the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where she completed her postgraduate piano studies with Alexander Fomenko and Vladimir Tropp. She was awarded a scholarship by the Russian Ministry of Culture, granted through the Russian House for Culture and Science in Berlin – becoming the first German pianist to receive this particular distinction for studies at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Angela Schmidt was a scholarship holder of the Anna Ruths Foundation Frankfurt / Main (Germany). Her most formative mentors include Paul Badura-Skoda, Vladimir Krainev, and Stanislav Pochekin. Her education was further enriched through international masterclasses with Dmitri Alexeev, Andrzej Jasinski, Natalia Trull, Marie-Josèphe Jude, Chantal Stigliani, and Naum Grubert. In April 2013, she was one of the six selected participants in the masterclass with Paul Badura-Skoda, which took place as part of the International Piano Forum Frankfurt / Main (Germany). She participated and performed at the 7th International Piano Meeting San Daniele, Cours public La Schola Cantorum Paris, Piano Festival de Saint-Savin, Mozarteum Salzburg, Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. As a member of the board of the International Theodor Leschetizky Society (Germany), Angela Schmidt is also deeply engaged in exploring the rarely performed repertoire of this distinguished composer, pianist, and humanist. A series of thematically curated concerts is currently in preparation. In addition, her solo CD featuring works by Frédéric Chopin and Theodor Leschetizky is in production and is scheduled for release next year. Previously, Cugate Classics Berlin released one of her Chopin works, which was promoted through social media channels and reached an international audience. Angela Schmidt focuses passionately on chamber music, collaborating with internationally active partners to develop innovative concert programs. These programs place classical masterworks in dialogue with contemporary aesthetics, bringing together composers such as Elgar and Arvo Pärt, Debussy and Max Richter, not as contrasts but as kindred voices across different eras.

Elle est lauréate du concours international de musique ”Music & Earth” à Sofia (2012), où elle a reçu le prix spécial dans la catégorie piano solo pour son interprétation d’une sonate de Ludwig van Beethoven. À cette occasion, elle s’est produite au Crystal Hall du Musée national de Sofia ainsi qu’à Radio Sofia, avec une présentation diffusée à la télévision nationale bulgare. Son parcours artistique est marqué par des études approfondies au sein d’institutions de renommée internationale. Après avoir obtenu son diplôme à la Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst de Francfort-sur-le-Main, elle a poursuivi sa formation à l’Académie nationale de musique ”P. Vladigerov” à Sofia auprès de Jenny Zaharieva. Elle a ensuite été admise au Conservatoire Tchaïkovski de Moscou, où elle a achevé un cycle de perfectionnement en piano auprès de Alexander Fomenko et Vladimir Tropp. Elle a bénéficié d’une bourse du ministère russe de la Culture, attribuée par l’intermédiaire de la Maison russe des sciences et de la culture à Berlin, devenant ainsi la première pianiste allemande à recevoir cette distinction pour des études au Conservatoire Tchaïkovski. Elle a également été boursière de la fondation Anna Ruths à Francfort-sur-le-Main. Parmi ses mentors les plus marquants figurent Vladimir Krainev et Stanislav Pochekin. Sa formation a été enrichie par des masterclasses internationales avec Dmitri Alexeev, Andrzej Jasinski, Natalia Trull, Marie-Josèphe Jude, Chantal Stigliani et Naum Grubert. Membre du conseil d’administration de la Theodor Leschetizky Society (Allemagne), Angela Schmidt s’engage activement dans la redécouverte du répertoire rarement interprété de Theodor Leschetizky. Une série de concerts thématiques est actuellement en préparation. Par ailleurs, un enregistrement soliste consacré à Frédéric Chopin et à Leschetizky est en cours de production et paraîtra prochainement. Une de ses interprétations de Chopin a déjà été publiée par le label Cugate Classics Berlin et diffusée à l’international via les réseaux sociaux. Très investie dans la musique de chambre, elle collabore avec des partenaires actifs sur la scène internationale afin de concevoir des programmes innovants. Ceux-ci mettent en dialogue les chefs-d’œuvre du répertoire classique avec des esthétiques contemporaines, réunissant des compositeurs tels que Edward Elgar et Arvo Pärt, Claude Debussy et Max Richter, non comme des oppositions, mais comme des voix apparentées à travers le temps.
